Our deck process
- Wash the surface with power washing and let the wood dry fully.
- Prep by sanding rough spots and scraping loose coating.
- Repair loose or damaged boards and trim if needed, with light carpentry.
- Stain or paint. Walking surfaces usually get a penetrating stain. Railings and posts can be stained or painted to match the house.

No deck finish lasts forever, and decks in full sun wear fastest. We will tell you what to expect for your deck and when it is likely to need a maintenance coat.

Stain or paint for my deck?
For walking surfaces we usually recommend a penetrating stain because it wears more gracefully than paint. Railings and trim are often painted. We will recommend what fits your deck.
How long does the deck need to dry after washing?
The wood has to be dry before staining, which usually means waiting at least a day or two of dry weather after washing.
When do I pay?
There is no payment until the job is done.
