If your cabinet boxes are solid but the finish looks dated, painting them is a practical way to get a new-looking kitchen with far less disruption than replacing them.

Our cabinet painting process
- Remove and label. Doors, drawer fronts and hardware come off and are labeled so everything goes back where it belongs.
- Clean and degrease. Kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking grease. They are thoroughly cleaned first, because paint will not bond to grease.
- Sand and repair. Surfaces are scuff-sanded, and dings and chips are filled.
- Prime. A bonding primer goes on so the finish grips the existing surface.
- Finish coats. We apply a hard, cabinet-grade enamel built for doors that open and close every day.
- Reinstall. Doors and drawers are rehung and adjusted. If you are changing hardware, we install the new pieces you choose.
Painting vs. replacing cabinets
Painting makes sense when the cabinet boxes and doors are in good condition and you are happy with the layout. If the boxes are damaged or you want a different layout, replacement may be the better choice. We will tell you honestly which side of that line your kitchen is on.
What to expect after painting
Cabinet enamels feel dry quickly but keep hardening for a while after the job. We will explain how to treat the new finish during the first weeks so it cures properly.

Can you paint stained oak cabinets?
Yes, with proper cleaning, sanding and a bonding primer. Oak has an open grain that can still show through paint, and we will talk through options if you want a smoother look.
Can I use my kitchen during the project?
Partly. The cabinet boxes stay in place, so the kitchen remains usable with some limits while doors and drawers are being finished.
Do you replace cabinet hardware?
We can install new knobs and pulls that you choose as part of reinstalling the doors and drawers.
When do I pay?
There is no payment until the job is done.
